BrightPath Foundation is the nonprofit outreach arm of a powerful learning system built for veterans, families, and communities.

Over the past two years, BuildingBlocs Literacy Publishing (founded by U.S. Marine veteran Aaron B. Kershaw) privately financed and built the entire BrightPath Academy ecosystem, including:

  • 60+ structured online courses

  • 300+ completed video modules, with 35 courses fully supported with video

  • Proprietary framework

  • A bilingual learning environment for English and Spanish speakers

  • A QR-based access system for veterans

  • A mobile app scheduled for completion by the end of Q1 2026

  • A publishing catalog where approximately 70% of courses have a companion book written and published by BuildingBlocs Literacy

BrightPath Foundation does not use donor funding to create intellectual property.
Instead, the Foundation raises funds to:

  1. Keep the nonprofit legal, insured, and compliant, and

  2. Keep the platform hosted, secure, and accessible for veterans and families.

As part of the partnership, BrightPath Foundation is also authorized to use and resell titles from the BuildingBlocs Literacy Publishing Catalog at nonprofit terms, allowing books and workbooks to be bundled into programs or sold as earned income to support the mission.

Every dollar of the $39,000 annual need supports:

  • Legal protection and compliance for the Foundation

  • Insurance and risk management

  • Accounting, reporting, and transparency

  • Stable hosting for the BrightPath platform and app

  • Secure access for veterans, families, and partner agencies

  • Long-term viability of a system that has already been built and paid for privately

BrightPath Foundation turns privately built educational assets into public access. Your support keeps the doors open and the system online.

Leadership & Compensation

Aaron B. Kershaw, founder and U.S. Marine veteran, currently serves as Executive Director on a volunteer basis. He is not drawing a salary at this time.

Any future salary or personnel costs will be presented to and approved by the Board of Directors once contracts, service agreements, or sustainable program revenue justify it, in full alignment with nonprofit and IRS standards.

 Supported Access: Direct Your Impact

Through our Supported Access model, donors and sponsors can:

  • Choose a dollar amount
  • Convert it into course access and resources
  • Designate a specific organization or population to receive that access

Examples include:

  • VFW and American Legion posts
  • Vet2Vet programs
  • Homeless veteran providers
  • Churches and community-based organizations
  • Youth, family, or recovery programs

Sponsors are recognized as the provider of that educational access.
